In case you haven't noticed, there are a few white components used where lime green is typically found on the mixers just below. According to Lloyd Laumann, Tonka historian and coauthor of "A Collector's Guide to Classic Mighty-Tonkas (1964-1983)" the Mighty Mixers are standard production, run in the middle 1970's. "A few units made during the middle 1970s have white drum supports." If Lloyd and author Mark Vaught's information is correct, it begs the question, why were the white parts run? Was the lime green pigment used to color natural colored plastic resin not available to support manufacturing? Why?
The images documenting the use of white components were saved over a period of years from eBay listings and from submissions from Tonka enthusiasts.

The Mighty Mixers as noted in examples 1, 2, 3 and 4 were all manufactured as standard production in Mound. Example 5 is a restoration. The restorer chose to use the 2 axle, 4 wheel version of the mixer that was only available from Sears in 1974.
